my top five wish lists

someone ever asked me, "what is your wish list". at that moment, i really can't find the answer since i've got, like a veryyyy long list of the things i want. but here's my top 5:

1. the steve madden gladiator shoes - oh, right now i'm just dying to get one!!

2. holiday - i'm in a deep need of holiday, wherever it is. but NY is my ultimate holiday wish. wanna have that white christmas at the rockefeller center ...drools!!

3. iPhone - anyone wanna buy me this beauty?

4. of course, in one of my lists, has to include this amazing guy called Johnny Depp. well, i gotta admit that i will have this series (all 5 seasons) soon. not that soon though ..soon soon, i mean.

5. futsal shoes. guess that this particular wish will be coming true very soon - say, next week. well, not actually this fancy-looking adidas futsal shoes ..but something like that ..almost ..y'know ..

i do have a very long term wish list, if you care. and that always include holidays. once i got that steve madden gladiator shoes, holiday will always stay as number 1 - promise!

deep in love with this song

Lucky
by Jason Mraz feat. Colbie Caillat

Do you hear me, I’m talking to you
Across the water, across deep blue ocean
Under the open sky ..oh my baby, I’m trying

Boy, I hear you in my dreams
I feel you whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh

They don’t know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had a one more kiss
I’ll wait for you, I promise you, I will

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

So I’m sailing through the sea
To an island where we’ll meet
You’ll hear the music, feel the air
I’ll put a flower in your head

Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty, you’re all I see
As the world is spinning around
You hold me right here right now

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh

avatar - the last airbender

so i was spending my weekend as a couch potato ..again! well, that's not a new story. anyway, i was watchin' this animated movie "Avatar - The Last Airbender" on dvds. i started watching it like months ago with my nieces (yes, they are 5 and 2 years old ..so what?). and i instantly fall in love with this movie. sadly, i always missed the series whenever it's on tv. and i never think about it again 'till last week. i found out that one of my friends has the complete collections (1-3 books). so i borrowed her dvds and spent hours in my room watchin' it.

here's the premise quotation from wikipedia about this movie: The Last Airbender fantasy world, home to humans, fantastic animals, and supernatural spirits. Human civilization is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Air Nomads, and the Fire Nation. Each nation has its own natural element, on which it bases its society. Within each nation exists an order called "Benders", who have the ability to manipulate the element of their nation. The show's creators assigned each Bending art its own style of martial arts; each Bending art inherited the advantages and weaknesses of the martial arts it was assigned. The Bending types are Waterbending, Earthbending, Firebending, and Airbending.

the four nations were living in harmony until the Fire Nation started a war to control all nations. each generation has one Avatar, which is the master of the four elements (water, earth, fire and air). when an Avatar died, they will reincarnated to the next cycle of the elements. the last Avatar was from the Fire Nation (Avatar Ruko) and when he died, the next Avatar will be from the Air Nomads. the Fire Nation began the war but the next Avatar (Aang) disappeared when the world needed him the most. the reason is ..he's only 12 years old and he was not ready to carry such burden to become the Avatar. usually, the Avatar was told that he/she is the Avatar when they reached the age of 16. but the monks in the Air Nomads decided to tell him earlier since the war has already started and they needed him to master the other elements as soon as possible ..so he ran away and frozen into a state of suspended animation for 100 years.

after being awoken by 2 kids from the Water Tribe, he found out that the world is in war, partly because of him. he then decided to travel around the world to master the four elements and to defeat the Fire Lord. and so the story began ...

- Aang and his pet Momo -

i've got 2 other favourite characters, beside Aang (of course). the first one is Prince Zuko. in the first book, Prince Zuko is obessed with capturing the Avatar to get his honor back. he was exile from the Fire Nation when he refused to fight with his father who happens to be the Fire Lord. the Fire Lord promised him to get his honor back if he is able to get and kill the Avatar. he literally travelled around the world to catch the Avatar. during those times, he found out that the war has brought terrible life to the other nations. after painful struggle with himself, Prince Zuko finally decided to help the Avatar in becoming the firebending teacher and defeat his father.

- Prince Zuko -

the other character is Sokka. he and his sister, Katara, were the kids from the Water Tribe who "found" the Avatar. he doesn't have the ability to bend the water like his sister. he doesn't even know how to fight ..at first, but he's very smart. he planned the whole thing ..from the little things such as how to spend the day until the plan for the invation to the Fire Nation. what i love about him is ..his sarcastic wittiness. he always complains just about everything and he never satisfy. but he's very down to earth ..in a strange way.

- Sokka "the thinker" -

anyway, i have finished the 3rd season (or book - that's what they call it) and it still continues.

.. say ..

the above video is a single from one of my favourite musician, John Mayer. he has this unique character in his voice and easy to recognize ..well, at least to me. but we're not gonna talk about him now - we'll get to him one day in a separate article.

this song is a soundtrack from The Bucket List movie. starring in this movie is Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman and Sean Hayes. though i haven't seen the movie yet ..this has been in the top of my must-see-movie-list. it's a story of two strangers who happen to share the same room together in the hospital. they absolutely have nothing in common except of their terminal illness and finally found friendship and decided to plan their journey to do all the things they want to do before dying.

anyway, this song is a beautiful song with a true moral message. love the lyric and just like the title of the song, it's like giving you the courage to say what you want to say. don't hold grudge ..

Say - by John Mayer

take out all your wasted honor
every little past frustration
take out all your so called problems
better put them in quotations

say what you need to say (8x)

walkin' like a one man army
fightin' with the shadows in your head
livin' up the same old moment
knowin' you'd be better off instead
if you could only

say what you need to say (8x)

have no fear for givin' in
have no fear for givin' over
you better know that in the end
it's better to say too much
than to never to say what you need to say again

even if your hands are shakin'
and your faith is broken
even as the eyes are closin'
do it with a heart wide open
a wide heart

say what you need to say (20x)

b'day dinner

last nite we (vida and i) had our little gathering to celebrate our b'days.

the arrangement for this dinner is a bit manic actually. previously, we decided to have dinner on saturday, 5 july 2008 at 7.30 p.m ..it's weekend, it's just perfect. we sent out our invitations a week before and hoping that everyone will be available.

here's the invitation we sent by emails (i know ..you can't even read the message)

i was having KR with my mummy last saturday and i checked with the waiter there. apparently, we won't be able to make any reservation for weekends :(. so then, we need to re-scheduled the dinner. emails sent to those who were invited. it's either wednesday or thursday this week. after long conversation and polling, we decided to have the dinner on thursday.

yesterday before lunch, tania and i stopped by at KR to make reservation (14 pax) for thursday, 3 july 2008 at 7.30 p.m. the waiter wrote down the information in their reservation book, then we left to lunch. 15 minutes after i made the reservation, someone from KR called up and told me that apparently KR will be closed for public since there will be a grand opening for the media. grr!!! why didn't tell us earlier?!! so we decided that we're gonna have the dinner tonite (wednesday).

during lunch, we were calling everyone and told them that the dinner has been changed ...again! luckily most of the people are able to join us in such a short notice, phew. apparently, jeanette and dina won't be joining us.

here's the pictures from last nite:

it's great to have good friends to share our special moments ..once again, thanks guys ..

me boitdei

so today is the d-day. well, i was actually born after 6 ..but what the heck. honestly, it doesn't feel a lot different from any other day. but hey, i'm the center of attention for today ..hehehe.

anyway, it's always good to know that people still remember your birthday even when we hardly ever talk during the year. i still got some lovely (long lost) people wishing me a wonderful wishes. i was very surprised but it's a very warm feeling and i do appreciate a lot. we may not be able to communicate every time, but it's so nice to know that you meant something to someone.

later on the afternoon, i was dragged to the office piazza. it's our little tradition for celebrating birthdays. fyi - the present is never been a surprise since we always ask what is needed. well, our favourites is the voucher ..of course. either sogo, metro, kinokuniya or aquarius. it's simple and easy and we never have to worried that we bought the wrong present.

here's the recap of my little celebration:

- that's the card -

- then the hidden and private messages (thanks gals) -

- the vouchers (it's metro) -

- the gals minus thelma (and jeanette with the-new-lying-down-pose) -

- the gals minus mbak gita -

now, it's time for me to go home and get ready for the birthday dinner with the family. once again, thank you all for the wishes!!!
